Long Biography
Dr. Turki Faisal Al Rasheed was born in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, in 1954. Over the past four decades, he has built a distinguished career at the intersection of business, academia, and public service.
As the founder and chairman of Golden Grass, Inc. (established 1982), he has led initiatives in sustainable agriculture, agrochemical distribution, and environmental services tailored to arid environments.
His academic career spans multiple continents. He earned his BSc in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Arizona (1981), an Executive MBA from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (2002), and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Liverpool John Moores University (2001) — successfully defended without corrections, an extremely rare achievement.
He serves as Adjunct Professor at the University of Arizona and Adviser to the Environment and Sustainable Development Unit at the American University of Beirut. He is the author of several books including Saudi Arabia's Transformation: Uncertainty and Sustainability (Routledge, 2026).
Dr. Al Rasheed also founded the Saudi Voter Center (2004) to promote civic engagement in the Kingdom, and launched Saudi in Focus (2007) — a daily electronic publication reaching millions of readers monthly.
